Cassandra Paloma Miranda - Flute

Cassandra Miranda Valladares began piano, violin, and flute lessons as a young
child in her native country of Puerto Rico. After deciding to major in flute,
she had the opportunity to extensively perform throughout the island before
pursuing graduate studies in Maryland. Cassandra graduated summa cum laude with
a bachelor in flute performance from the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico
where she also received the Woodwind Department Achievement Medal awarded to
the most outstanding overall student in the woodwind department. She completed
her masters degree from the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins
University in 2007. Currently, Cassandra is the band director at Harpers
Choice Middle School in Columbia and teaches flute privately. She is also
certified as a Suzuki Instructor in both flute and piano.
